Halle Berry Denied 50/50 Custody Of Son Amid Abuse Allegations
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled against Halle Berry, denying her requests for 50/50 custody and overnight visits with her 13-year-old son Maceo. Judge Shelley Kaufman dismissed ex-husband Olivier Martinez’s request for a permanent domestic violence restraining order but kept the existing custody arrangement in place. Martinez had accused Berry of choking Maceo during a September 26 incident, which Berry denies. Berry’s attorney Marina Beck called the court’s dissolving of the temporary restraining order “extremely pleasing,” while Martinez’s lawyer Patrick Baghdaserians called his client retaining primary physical custody a “huge victory.” Berry’s 18-year-old daughter Nahla Aubry submitted a declaration defending her mother, calling Berry “a loving and devoted parent.” Additional custody proceedings are expected.
