NBC is developing a new emergency medicine drama series called Pops, starring Kelsey Grammer. The show follows a man who enters the chaotic world of emergency medicine in his 60s. It is based on the true story of Ed Levien, a Maryland man who retired from advertising and worked as an EMT from age 64 to 76. Grammer will also executive produce the project alongside Chicago Med executive producers. Universal Television is producing the series. Grammer spent over two decades at NBC playing Dr. Frasier Crane, earning four of his five Emmys in the role. He also appears in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
