Ryan Murphy Completes ‘Glee’ Reboot Script, Original Cast Shows Interest

TV creator Ryan Murphy revealed that he has finished a script for a potential Glee reboot. Speaking at the American Horror Story season premiere, Murphy told ET he had “just finished the script an hour ago.” He confirmed that co-writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan contributed to the project. Murphy added he has contacted roughly 10 original cast members, describing them as “very enthusiastic about the idea,” though none have read the script yet. Glee originally aired from 2009 to 2015, amassing 207 Billboard Hot 100 entries — a record surpassed only by Drake, Taylor Swift, and Future. The show has also endured tragedy, with the deaths of stars Cory Monteith in 2013 and Naya Rivera in 2020.
