Some of the fittest firefighters on the planet will be in Kamloops this upcoming September as the city hosts the 2024 FireFit World and Canadian Championships.
More than 350 competitors are expected to travel to McArthur Island for the event that, according to a news release, will “combine a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges that first responders are constantly performing in real emergencies.”
Athletes will compete in male, female, mixed and team categories that spectators will be encouraged to attend.
The event is planned for Sept. 25-29 and a detailed schedule will be made available in the future, along with announcements of beer gardens, kid courses and other family-friendly activities.
