Kamloops North Shore traffic stop leads to big drug bust
KAMLOOPS — A routine traffic stop on the North Shore over the weekend led to a significant drug seizure for Kamloops RCMP.
In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says an officer was patrolling Saturday (June 24) at about 4:00 p.m. when he saw a vehicle roll through a stop onto Lethbridge Avenue.
The officer pulled the vehicle over, which is when the evidence was discovered.
“Approximately three quarters of a kilo of suspected illegal drugs were seized as a result, including cocaine, meth, and opioids, in additional to paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, and more than $6,000 in cash,” said Evelyn.
Both suspects have been released as investigators continue their work.
Anyone with further information on the bust is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2023-22327.
