SICAMOUS, B.C. — A sledder was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an accident in the Kingfisher Creek area along the Owlhead Snowmobile Trail in the Shuswap.
In a news release, Sicamous RCMP say a 46-year-old man visiting from Quebec was found unresponsive by those in his group Thursday (March 2) afternoon.
Police say the group had been separated for a period before they found him unconscious near a tree after potentially colliding with it. Members of the group gave the man CPR while waiting for Shuswap Search and Rescue.
RCMP say the man was eventually brought down the mountain and sent to Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm with life-threatening injuries.
Police say no criminality is suspected.
