Kamloops police cruiser struck by red BMW on the North Shore
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops RCMP cruiser was struck Wednesday (Mar. 1) while officers were investigating a report of a man slumped over inside a red BMW on the North Shore.
In a news release, RCMP say they were called to the 1800-block of Tranquille Road at around 10:20 p.m. where they saw the BMW with mismatched license plates.
“Although the man seemed cooperative at first, he allegedly turned the car back on and drove it at a high rate of speed, causing a minor collision with an approaching police vehicle before fleeing the area,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with unkempt red hair, facial hair, and a flat brim dark coloured hat.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has information or video related to it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
