Vehicle recovery on Highway 5 still ongoing, impacting traffic following fatal semi crash

KAMLOOPS — The fallout of a fatal two-semi truck crash is still impacting traffic north of Kamloops.

DriveBC reports traffic on Highway 5 near McLure will be single lane alternating until at least 4 p.m. Friday (Feb. 3) due to a vehicle recovery between Jane Road and Orchard Lake Road.

Previously, at around 9:55 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 2), DriveBC said the northbound lane of Highway 5 near McLure would be closed for the vehicle recovery following the two-semi crash shortly before noon.

A photo from the scene posted to social media showed one of the trucks in the ditch was carrying steel beams.
