Merritt RCMP seek witnesses and footage after 72-year-old struck by a pickup truck
MERRITT, B.C. — Merritt RCMP are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage from a hit and run near Aberdeen Road in late November.
In a news release issued Monday (Dec. 12) morning, Merritt RCMP say a 72-year-old person was struck by a truck in the Aberdeen Cold Beer and Wine Store on Nov. 26 shortly after 4:00 p.m.
Police say the truck did not remain on scene, and the 72-year-old was sent to Nicola Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It is possible the driver was unaware they struck the pedestrian, and we are asking them to do the right thing and contact us,” Cst. Nicholas Maciejewski says.
The truck is described as a four-door white pick-up truck. The bottom half of the truck can be seen in the top half of a picture submitted by Merritt RCMP.
