Drivers without winter tires encouraged to stay home: City of Kamloops
UPDATE (7:15 a.m.): The City of Kamloops says all roads impacted by last night’s snowy conditions are now open.
In a social media post, the City says main roads, along with bus and school routes have been addressed. Now, city crews are now working on roadways in higher elevated neighbourhoods.
The City says Kamloops drivers who don’t have winter tires should consider staying home.
However, anyone who drives today is asked to give themselves extra time and extra space between themselves the cars in front of them.
EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Road conditions in Kamloops are still slick and slippery Friday (Nov. 4) morning.
After snow created chaos in Kamloops and surrounding highways Thursday (Nov. 3) evening, the City is telling drivers that if they don’t have snow tires on their vehicles, they should consider staying home.
“If you do drive, give yourself extra time and leave extra space between yourself and the car in front of you. Our crews are working hard, but it’s slippery out there,” the City states.
