RCMP rush to Parkcrest Avenue home after report of assault with a weapon
KAMLOOPS — RCMP have swarmed an address in Brocklehurst Thursday afternoon (Oct. 13) after the report of a violent incident.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to Parkcrest Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. for the report of an assault involving weapons. When police arrived, a white truck was seen fleeing the area.
Responding officers from several units teamed up to locate the truck at a Glenview Avenue address. While there was no one in the truck, there was a gun located inside.
A man was arrested not long afterward at a nearby home.
“This investigation is still in its very early stages and a large police presence remains on scene at this time,” said Evelyn. “The public is asked to please avoid the area while police continue their efforts and to contact the Kamloops RCMP if they have any information that may be helpful.”
Anyone with further information, including video footage, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2022-36694.
