Vehicle incident causes lengthy overnight closure on Highway 1 north of Salmon Arm

UPDATE (8:15 a.m.): BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) say two patients were sent to hospital in serious condition following a crash involving two cars and a semi truck in Tappen Sunday.
EHS confirmed to CFJC Today that four ambulances responded when they received a call at 7:24 p.m. for the crash at Highway 1 and Kirkpatrick Road in Tappen.
EHS are unable to confirm fatalities at a scene.
EARLIER: SALMON ARM, B.C. — The Trans Canada Highway north of Salmon Arm reopened after a lengthy overnight closure.
DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident Sunday (Oct. 2) shortly before 8 p.m. that kept Highway 1 near Tappen closed until 2 a.m. Monday (Oct. 3).
