Operation Red Nose cancels remainder of Kamloops dates due to Omicron concerns and new restrictions
KAMLOOPS — Operations Red Nose Kamloops called the remainder of its 2021 campaign.
In a news release Wednesday (Dec. 22) morning, the holiday designated driving service announced it will not operate on Dec. 30 and 31 due to new restrictions from the Provincial Health Office. The service began in Kamloops Nov. 26.
“Operation Red Nose operated successfully for 11 nights to ensure citizens in our community arrived home safely. We are proud to say we provided 339 safe rides home over the 11 nights of service in Kamloops,” Operation Red Nose states.
Additionally, Operation Red Nose’s Quebec National office also decided to cancel all operations for the remainder of the year due to the growing concerns around the Omicron variant.
Operation Red Nose states the decision came to be as caution, prevention, and safety are its values.
