‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Climbs To $360 Million, Now Best Opening Weekend Ever
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has broken the all-time domestic opening weekend record, earning $360 million in its debut — surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s previous record of $357 million. Early estimates Sunday had the film missing Endgame’s mark by $2 million, but late screenings earned more than expected. The Tom Holland-led film also launched to $932 million globally, making it the second-biggest worldwide opening in history, behind only Endgame’s $1.2 billion. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows Peter Parker navigating life after the world forgot his identity. Holland’s Spider-Man franchise has grown with each installment, from $880 million worldwide in 2017 to $1.9 billion with No Way Home. The film is projected to surpass $2 billion globally.
