Cardi B Awarded Nearly $20,000 In Legal Costs After Court Victory
A judge ruled Thursday that Cardi B can recover $19,690 in trial costs from security guard Emani Ellis, who lost an assault lawsuit against the rapper. Ellis tried to block the payment, claiming the Grammy winner waited too long and the bill was “a sham.” The judge called the costs “reasonable” and “necessary,” covering deposition fees, court reporter costs, and photocopies. Ellis’ lawyer Ron A. Rosen Janfaza said his client wouldn’t fight the ruling. In January, a jury unanimously rejected Ellis’ claim that Cardi scratched her face during a 2018 confrontation outside a Beverly Hills medical office. Cardi testified there was no physical contact, only verbal exchange, after believing Ellis was filming her during a pregnancy doctor visit. (Story URL)
