Couple arrested after man reportedly points gun at vehicle during Salmon Arm road rage incident
SALMON ARM, B.C. — A couple was arrested after a man reportedly pointed a gun at another driver during a scene of road rage.
Salmon Arm RCMP say a man reported the incident with a beige Cadillac Escalade SUV at around 4:00 p.m. Monday (April 14).
According to police, the man reported a verbal exchange on the Trans Canada Highway near Walmart in Salmon Arm. While he thought it was over, the man said the Cadillac pulled over on Highway 1 near Pierre’s Point Road where the front passenger reportedly pointed a gun at him and his vehicle as he drove past.
RCMP say members eventually stopped the Cadillac on the Trans Canada Highway in Chase where the 32-year-old female driver and 44-year-old male passenger were arrested. One gun was found on the passenger side.
In a news release issued Thursday (April 17), RCMP say the couple was released without process while more evidence is collected. Police expect several charges to be recommended to the BC Prosecution Service.
