KTW Christmas Cheer campaign to live on with B.C. Interior Community Foundation
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops This Week (KTW) Christmas Cheer campaign will live on, even as the newspaper closes up shop.
In a news release, the B.C. Interior Community Foundation (BCICF) has announced it will take over the charitable cause.
KTW has been operating the fund after taking it over from Kamloops Daily News upon that newspaper’s closure in 2014.
Donations to the Christmas Cheer campaign are distributed to other charities serving the local community.
“The Christmas Cheer campaign has been a cherished tradition in the Kamloops community for many years, ensuring the continued support of charities serving our community,” said BCICF Executive Director Wendy Noonan in a news release. “BCICF is honored to carry on this tradition and is committed to upholding its legacy of generosity and community spirit.”
KTW published its last newspaper Wednesday (Oct. 25) after covering news in Kamloops for 35 years.
