KAMLOOPS — Rain and cooler conditions have resulted in the campfire ban being lifted in the Kamloops Fire Centre — just a week after it came into effect.
The B.C. Wildfire Service says the campfire prohibition will be lifted in the Kamloops Fire Centre as of Friday (June 16) at 12:00 noon.
Category 2 and 3 fires remain prohibited.
The first campfire ban of the season was put in place last Thursday (June 8) after unseasonably warm and dry conditions.
Since then, parts of the region have received rain and relative humidity values have risen.
