Tip from the public leads to recovery of stolen tricycle in downtown Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — There is a happy ending to the story of a tricycle stolen from a Brocklehurst home last week.
In a news release issued Friday (June 9), Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the tricycle has been returned to its rightful owner.
The trike was stolen around May 27 from a home in the 1100-block of Laroque Street. When RCMP requested public assistance in locating it, they noted it had great emotional and sentimental value to the child who rode it.
Thursday (June 8) at about 12:00 noon, a member of the public noticed the tricycle in the 100-block of Victoria Street West. Officers seized it and have now returned it.
“The tricycle had been modified with some paint and stickers, but was confirmed to be the one reported as stolen and belonging to the child,” said Evelyn.
RCMP thank the public for their help.
