Fire damages Parkcrest Avenue home Friday

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue crews rushed to a house fire in Brocklehurst Friday morning (June 9).

The fire was called in at about 10:15 a.m. at a home in the 1700-block of Parkcrest Avenue, between Holt Street and Laroque Street.

A photo from the scene shows flames on the west side of the building, with black smoke billowing from the siding and roof.

Responding KFR crews extinguished the fire.

“The crews did a really good save,” KFR Assistant Chief Ryan Cail told CFJC Today. “From what I know, it was a daycare and the crews managed to keep it outside, to the exterior of the [building].”

There’s no word what caused the fire or how much damage was done.
