Kamloops RCMP looking for suspect in alleged assault of teenager
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking to identify a man who reportedly assaulted a teenager at the McArthur Island skate park.
In a news release, police say they received the report of a 14-year-old who had been assaulted by an adult man in the 15500-block of Island Parkway at around 6 p.m. Tuesday (April 4).
“Prior to the assault, the victim youth and a second youth had an altercation which resulted in the victim youth being on the ground, at which point the suspect allegedly kicked the victim in the face,” S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says. “We are releasing a photo of the suspect taken shortly after the assault, in hopes that someone can identify him.”
The suspect is described as a white man with a reddish beard near the age of 35 years. He was seen wearing black pants, dark running shoes, a black hat, an orange hoodie and a grey hoodie with a graphic blue t-shirt. Police say he was last seen running from the McArthur Island skate park.
