Man arrested after allegedly using flashlight as weapon in Sahali robbery
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man is facing charges after a robbery with a weapon in Sahali Friday afternoon (Oct. 7).
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to a business in the 700-block of Summit Drive at about 5:05 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses alleged the man stole items from the business, then pulled a weapon on an employee who pursued him.
“With the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, officers located a suspect nearby and took him into custody without issue,” said Evelyn. “He was held for a weekend bail hearing and remanded until his next court appearance, scheduled for some time today.”
Justin Wade Worthington, 42, of Kamloops faces the following charges:
- robbery
- possession of a weapon (a flashlight) for a dangerous purpose
- uttering threats
