KAMLOOPS — A two-and-a-half-year planning process has come to an end with Kamloops council’s adoption of the North Shore Neighbourhood Plan (NSNP).
Council unanimously passed adoption of the plan at Tuesday’s (Sept. 27) regular meeting. It’s the first update of the overarching strategic document since 2008.
The NSNP will guide land use on the North Shore for a 20-year time window.
During that time, council decisions will keep an eye toward increased density in the North Shore business corridor, enhancements to the Fortune Shopping Centre and the riverfront.
According to the City, the next steps include further bylaw amendments that will pave the way for more infill housing and a greater diversity of housing options.
