Three facing robbery with a firearm charges after Friday shooting incident in Sahali
KAMLOOPS — RCMP say three men are facing charges of robbery with a firearm in the wake of Friday’s (Sept. 16) shooting report in Lower Sahali.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say members were called to the 700-block of McGill Road for the report of shots fired and a gun visible. Not long afterward, officers located five people around the Lower Sahali business district believed to be involved in the incident. Two were later identified as victims and released.
“This investigation involved a high-risk situation and multiple suspects at a time of day when there was an abundance of people on their way to school and work,” said Insp. Jeff Pelley. “Thanks to the fast response of multiple police units throughout the city and the assistance of the community in providing updates on the suspects’ locations, officers were able to make quick arrests and advance the investigation, leading to charge approvals and court appearances scheduled for today.”
Various police units continued to investigate in Sahali throughout the day Friday. One of the suspects was arrested by members of the Integrated Road Safety Unit (IRSU).
“As part of the investigation, officers located evidence to support a firearm was discharged during what is believed to be a targeted incident,” noted Insp. Pelley. “Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this very public and dangerous occurrence. Investigations surrounding individuals who use violence and firearms continues to be a high and strategic priority for the Kamloops RCMP.”
Three men are facing charges of robbery with a firearm:
- Alexander James Zeballos (32) of Anaconda
- Kaleb Lawrence Conroy (19) of Maple Ridge
- Dylan Glaser (20) of Smithers
