Residents advised of 6 Ave bike lane construction
KAMLOOPS — 6 Avenue in Kamloops is going to be under construction starting on September 12.
Construction on the bike lane is set to be completed by the end of November.
People can expect crews to be working Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of evening or weekend work if required.
Residents are being told that throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment may be in use. “Fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration,” the city website reads.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
There will be traffic and transit impacts, however, as one travel lane in each direction will be maintained.
“Inbound (northbound) transit stops will be closed temporarily on 6th Avenue, but outbound (southbound) stops will remain open,” the city release states.
