Man arrested after early morning robbery in Westsyde
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man is in custody after an early morning robbery in Westsyde.
According to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, RCMP were called to a business in the 3000-block of Westsyde Road at about 5:45 a.m. Monday (June 13).
Witnesses said a man came into the store, demanded cash and threatened the clerk before taking off on foot.
“Officers flooded the area and located a suspect matching the description provided,” said Evelyn. “The suspect was quickly captured and taken into custody.”
Xavier Sky Kalelest, 25, is facing a single count of robbery and will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
