June at Sun Peaks offers… snowshoeing?
SUN PEAKS, B.C. — It’s June in the B.C. Interior — who wants to go snowshoeing?
In the latest indication of how much snow remains in the B.C. alpine, Sun Peaks Resort says it will open its Sunburst chairlift next Friday (June 17) for on-foot sightseeing tours, including snowshoeing.
In a news release, the resort notes it would normally offer hiking trails at this time of year, but due to the amount of snow still sitting in the upper elevations, that will look different to begin the summer.
Skiing and snowboarding are not permitted.

Projected opening of the Tod Mountain portion of the park has been pushed back to June 27.
The resort says the Sundance Bike Park zone and chairlift are slated to open in early July.
