Kamloops RCMP and SD73 collecting pledges for BC Children’s Hospital in friendly competition
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP and School District 73 (SD73) are competing against each other to fundraise for the BC Children’s Hospital.
A team of six officers will take on a team of six SD73 personnel where each member will ride a stationary bike for 10 minutes while collecting pledges from the community. While the team with the second-most pledges will have to pony up coffee and donuts for the winning side, the funds raised will go towards fighting childhood cancer.
“It brings to light that not all children are able to do kid things like ride a bike outside with their friends,” Cpl. Dana Napier says. “We really appreciate everything the hospital does to allow kids to still feel like kids, while they’re dealing with some really serious stuff.”
Anyone interested in donating can do so online. The stationary cycling competition takes place Wednesday (May 18) from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during a NorKam Key Club Ride.
