One arrested after armed home invasion report in Brocklehurst
KAMLOOPS — RCMP are following up the report of an armed home invasion in Brocklehurst.
The report came in at 7:10 a.m. on Monday (Apr. 4). RCMP rushed to the 2000-block of Glenview Avenue after a caller reported three people, including one person armed with a handgun, forced their way into a home, held the occupant against their will, stole items and took off in the victim’s car. Further information led police to suspect one woman may have been abducted.
Investigators followed clues to Valleyview, where they located a black sedan associated with the crimes.
A man was arrested at a nearby gas station for firearms offences, assault and forcible confinement. RCMP seized a loaded handgun, two paintball guns, bear spray and the black sedan.
The supposed abduction victim may actually have been with the suspects; she was confirmed not to have been harmed. One suspect is still on the loose.
The man who was arrested has been released with conditions and charges pending.
Anyone with further information on the incident is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and cite file number 2022-10813.
