Power outage affects 6,000 from Kamloops to Valemount
UPDATE (5 a.m. Thursday): More than 3,000 customers living along the North Thompson corridor remain without power early Thursday (March 24) morning.
BC Hydro said late Wednesday night that the 3,229 customers currently without power in Clearwater, Avola, Vavenby, Blackpool, Valemount, and surrounding areas, would likely be without power overnight as crews need daylight to safely work.
BC Hydro’s outage map says it’s due to a transmission circuit failure.
EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Around 6,000 people living along the North Thompson corridor are out of power Wednesday (March 23) afternoon.
BC Hydro says customers from the Westsyde area up to Valemount are experiencing an outage due to “transmission circuit failure”.
Just before 4:00 p.m. BC Hydro tweeted that crews will be headed to the outages.
