KAMLOOPS — Interior Health has issued a second drug alert for Kamloops.
This time, the alert focuses on a substance being sold as ‘Down’. IH says the substance contains up to five times the typical amount of fentanyl found in drugs sold as ‘Down.’ It also contains a “benzo-like substance.”
The risk to users is an extremely high likelihood of overdose.
The drug appears in several different forms; IH says both pink and purple material was tested.
This alert will remain in place until Feb. 22. A second alert issued Feb. 10 for Kamloops remains in effect until Thursday (Feb. 17).
