KAMLOOPS — The Whispering Pines-Clinton Indian Band has a new chief and two new councillors.
In a news release, WPCIB notes former councillor Ed LeBourdais was elected chief by a 58-44 vote over Trevor Tresierra.
LeBourdais, who will serve a two-year term, succeeds longtime chief Mike LeBourdais, who did not run for re-election.
Joining LeBourdais will be new councillors Mat Lewis and Sunny LeBourdais. Incumbent councillor Jack Bones was among three candidates who were not elected to council.
WPCIB says 104 of the band’s 171 eligible voters cast ballots.
