KAMLOOPS — There has been growth on a pair of fires within the Kamloops Fire Centre.
According to the B.C. Wildfire Service, the Embleton Mountain fire near Whitecroft is now measured at 516 hectares.
However, officials say it is burning away from Whitecroft, up slope toward the west. Whitecroft remains evacuated, while nearby Sun Peaks and Heffley Lake are under alerts.
Near Ashcroft, the Tremont Creek wildfire to the east is now estimated at 300 hectares.
The TNRD has put an evacuation alert in place for 50 properties near that fire.
The Mount Peter Ridge Line fire that popped up opposite Dallas Tuesday (July 14) is still listed at just two hectares and was attacked by air resources Tuesday.
