The Mustard Seed prepares big Thanksgiving dinner
KAMLOOPS — The Mustard Seed is getting ready to serve its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner.
Staff and volunteers are preparing to dish up meals Monday, October 11 at 5 p.m.
Chef Dieter Jennen says he loves cooking Thanksgiving Dinner at The Mustard Seed and starts putting it together days before.
“I usually cook off about 25 20lb turkeys, so, it’s quite a few. And then 150 pounds of mashed potatoes, 100 pounds of carrots and peas and brussels sprouts. Good old brussels sprouts,” he said.
More than 300 meals provided to those in need.
Dinners will be individually packaged in COVID-safe containers.
“Oh you can see the thanks in them; it’s one thing that they don’t have. A lot of them don’t have families like you and me, where we sit down and get together with all of our friends, enjoy a nice meal and talk,” Jennen said.
