Linda from the Sahali Liquor Store treated us to a Black Currant wine from Elephant Island Orchard Wines in Naramata BC. Humungous flavors of red berries and pomegranate, all backed by the singular crispness of currant. Perfect with anything loaded with Mediterranean herbs, salty + fairly oily — Greek salad (with lots of feta), Memphis-rubbed rack of ribs, or garlic braised rack of lamb. And seriously … kettle potato chips. Definitely unique, and a conversation starter at your dinner party. Would also make a great gift!
